When I moved to LA and started meeting small business owners, I noticed something. Most of them had an incredible story - years of hard work, real expertise, loyal customers - but their operations were telling a different one. Missed calls. Leads falling through the cracks. No follow-up. Money left on the table every single day. And somewhere along the way, the business that was supposed to give them freedom started running them instead - leaving them to handle all of it alone.
Watching that, my mind kept going back to something completely different - something I hadn't thought about in years, but would end up building a business around.
I grew up in Sweden, surrounded by old-growth forest. Spending time there, you learn something that isn't obvious at first: what looks solid above ground depends entirely on what's happening beneath it. Every tree builds its own invisible root system - pulling in nutrients, sending signals through the soil, quietly holding itself up.
Every tree has its own story, or saga as we'd say in Swedish - years of growth, storms weathered, built slowly from the ground up. None of that happens without the root system underneath, doing the work no one sees.
